WELL READ
How do you define well read
Reading few words which famed shed
Or reading thousands of words of unread
What matters is what was retained in head
For one can see God in a pebble
Some see him in mountains
Some search him within
While he is with them
sipping coffee
and still unseen
Whom should I read
To be labelled well read
I read only those who could
enter my head
I have read many a books too
Not picked by names or looks
I never memorized details
Not that they were written in braille
For I did not read them as a subject
To vomit out in discussions
Or to students give instructions
It was plain seduction
Which I experienced through them
So many of them
Many a dinner plate was snatched
Many a tight slaps to it attached
For it was an addiction
Maybe for me a salvation
Today I am not the well read belle
But at least it taught me to read people well.
