SMILES
A dear friend of mine said
only humans do smile
I found that totally absurd
and a cent percent lie
I grew up with other lives
please ask me just once
I will show you some smiles
which from loving eyes fly
I have caught them and stored them
in my heart within
And lived a blessed life
with those blessings hidden
Dear friend let your smile
from your lips move to eyes
You will surely see the smile of
birds, bees and butterflies
Have you ever looked beyond
the lips of human beings
Most smile with their lips
and their eyes lifeless things
You judged the whole world
with the smiles of these crooks
They treat life as playthings
in every corner and nook
The ones who wiped smiles off
from this world like butchers
They took pleasure in permanently
sealing lips with sutures
Thank God there are still those who
smile with their eyes
Collect blessings in the smiles of the nature
with whom they tie.
