I LOVED RIGHTLY
Had I known my ways were wrong
and that I was being scorned at
Would I have changed my ways
I do not think so
For loving is not a crime
You can love more than one at a time
Do not try to attach labels to relations
Do not try to differentiate love within genders
A man loves in the same way as a woman
Depending on what he or she understands about love
Love cannot be possessed
by labeled relations of society
Love cannot be caged
Love cannot be dictated upon
and showered upon as per your wishes
Love is not a perfume that you will don
and get started for the gala night
How puzzled I become when love
through their eyes I see
I could not accept it then
I cannot accept it now either
I will love in my way
Or I will move away
It does not bother me when they
open their hearts to me
For I do not see love there but lust
Maybe for others a must
How can you such a man trust
Who could not see beyond the coated dust
I did nothing wrong
I loved rightly
To hell with this society
They scorned me as they
never could love
my way.
For them a possession
For me not an obsession.
But an open confession
that I loved rightly
And to this love I
hold on tightly.
