FLOWERS BLOOM ON GROUND

FLOWERS BLOOM ON GROUND
When my wings seemed clipped
I wanted to fly
I did flutter to shorter heights
Could have flown to see
brighter sights
But something said
for you not right
Wait and watch
Let not wings torch
with small pleasures
which appear a treasure
I fluttered back
to my open cage
Many stories I typed
on my life’s page
Now my wings have grown
New wings not shown
Many wines I sipped
Still never tripped
Green pastures called
My past, I recalled
I can easily fly
and give it a try
But I sit tight
Observing the plight
How clipped wings fight.
Why did I not fly?
For I had wings of
Butterfly
Flowers bloom on ground
and not in sky.
