A COLLAB POEM (Ronnie Tucker & Sunita Grover Raina)
BLACK ROSE
I close my eyes and heave a sigh
I know this is goodbye
We have drifted so far away
We just go through motions and gestures now
What has happened to us
Once we were so close
Now we are so far apart
Love is not a possession
That after the vows
it would remain somehow
You needed to keep it burning
Desperately for it yearning
Like the wick which needs its oil
But ever for money you toiled
The wick burnt itself to dust
My mind started gathering rust
We shared so much together
Now it’s like we are acting our parts
What has happened to the laughter and the tears
Slowly our smiles decayed
Where has that beautiful girl gone
Shadows in the Twilight
Black Rose so full of thorns
You shared like a child excited
When with his new toy
And then you took me for granted
To look at red rose, whenever wanted
The laughter, when was alive
Got tears readily into our eyes
You wiped away our beautiful smiles
As you drifted away miles and miles
Running after power and fame
Slowly it became a liars game
You killed my love slowly not knowing
A black rose left in your garden growing
The cut is the deepest
Let the blood flow down the stems
As the shades turn to day
Where are you now I wonder
Have you moved on with someone else
Do you still think of me every now and then
Does a little tingle touch your heart
when you think of me
Or am I just a faded memory
Did I ever ask you for money
A black rose now is your sweet honey
It is too late to wonder why
It is too late to sit and cry
What you ran after, was your well thought dream
Now sit confidently and enjoy the cream
My needs were few and very simple
A mere smile of yours, in me would love kindle
I do at times think of you and me
Yes! I have moved on, as wished destiny.
