I DEDICATE THIS POEM TO MY FRIEND FE ROSARIO V. MAXIMO
JUST LEAVE IT TO BECOME
Only death is a constant
But life a variable
Death never a respondent
But life is arable
Like things, differ in seasons
Life has its own reasons
You cannot live the present
With thoughts, by past sent
Future is yet to come
Leave it to become
Why kill the present
The moment most pleasant
You need to be
What you are, with time
Never show a false form
just with others to rhyme
Time will take away pleasure
Present moment’s treasure
For time too loves truth
However uncouth
Consistency is not the need
For life is inconsistent
We are humans not machines
Not born for habituated routines
You may pray, you may hope
Use options, use scopes
But be true to all your breaths
For consistent is death
Only death is a constant
But life a variable
Death never a respondent
But life is arable.
