FLATTENED IS FINE
For years I got
just three hours sleep
For years daily
my soul did weep
Still stood upright
Held my legs tight
Lest they buckle
And enemies chuckle
My backbone
wanting to fall apart
Like the pyramid of cards
which in rhythm starts
But straight I stood
And looked so good
With all the aches
With all the pains
The first soul left
Half deck just fell
The second flattened
My pyramid well
Don’t feel like
playing this game again
The breeze just comes
to down me lain
Still down on ground
Bones scattered around.
