TRUSSED WINGS
A friend questioned
When did you last see yourself
In a mirror
I replied sincerely, maybe years
Prompt came the reply
Go stand before it
And now see yourself through my eyes
What did you see?
I am an angel with trussed wings
Who has been flying
In dreams only
And is cutting the cords
For I was for years seeing
just a reflection
Of my outer self
And never myself.
